Priyanka Gandhi can definitely play big role in Indian politics

“Reject the leaders who reject you,” is what Priyanka GandhiVadra kept on telling the people during her campaign in Uttar Pradesh for the recently held assembly polls. This statement talks volumes. The progressive vision and the clarity about concept of democracy, both come out from this statement. Yes, Priyanka Gandhi is a leader who realizes the strength of democracy and the power of vote which is crucial for bringing in changes in our system.   Beyond doubt one can also argue that she has got tremendous potential to become an outstanding leader in Indian politics. If she takes such a decision that will be the most appropriate one for strengthening the democracy and will be very much beneficial for the poor and underprivileged in our country.
When one analyses the campaigns of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra it becomes very clear that her main focus was development. She expressed disappointment over the bad state of affairs in the state of Uttar Pradesh. She had examples to list out to prove what she says was correct. Whether it is the case of electricity related issues in Raebareli or the issue of dilapidated roads in the region, she could pin point what is lacking in the state. She could convince the people what was going wrong in Raebareli, the constituency of her mother, Sonia Gandhi.  The people became very clear that the development works in their constituency is not reaping the expected benefits despite the sincere efforts from their MP Sonia Gandhi, because of the careless attitude of the non-Congress state government. Definitely Priyanka Gandhi had substantial evidences to prove her point. Same is the case with Amethi too, the parliament constituency of her brother Rahul Gandhi.
Yes, Priyanka Gandhi knows well how to convince people. The people give her a patient hearing. They loved to interact with her, talk to her and they feel happy to have a glimpse of their favourite leader. Like her brother Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi also loved to go to the people, interact with them to understand their grievances. She also argued that the leaders should go to the people to know their issues and if a leader stops going to the people, she asked the people, to reject him. She is right. In democracy the real power is in the hands of the people. That is what she always tried to tell the people.
When Priyanka Gandhi was given the responsibility to look after the affairs in Amethi and Raebareli during the last UP assembly polls, she could handle it in a quite appreciable manner. All her public meetings - she preferred to address small gatherings at maximum places – attracted a good number of enthusiastic crowd. No one can be blamed if they compare her with Late Indira Gandhi. Priyanka Gandhi, they say, is having the same charisma and potential, quite similar to late Congress leader – Indira Gandhi.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had urged the people to ‘think properly and intelligently before casting your votes” - a clear message to remind the people about the strength of votes. She could help people to learn about their role in a democracy. They could realise after listening to Priyanka Gandhi that if people want a change, they can do so. That is the strength of democracy and the importance of elections, people told themselves.  That is what our democracy needs to strengthen itself and that is what Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been effectively practicing.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to the people of U.P: Fight for your rights through vote

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while speaking at an election meeting at Ramganj in Amethi as part of her campaign for Congress said that the biggest strength of the people in a democracy is the right to vote.
Priyanka Gandhi said “In democracy the biggest strength is the right to vote. Your leaders come to you and tell that your vote is very valuable. Your vote is valuable not because someone becomes your leader with your votes, but because it protects your rights. You can fight for your rights through vote. If you won’t realize this that will help the negative politics you witnessed for the past 22 years to continue and the next five years also will be wasted. This will harm not only your future but also the future of your children.
Priyanka Gandhi added “You give power and strength to the leaders but it is natural for some of them that they forget the strength that helped them to come to power.. and they think that they have the entire strength... Who will make them remember this? Only you can teach the leaders that the power and strength are with the people and not with the leaders… If you do not awake and do not realize your strength, then there will not be any change or development.”
“I have been coming here for the past 22 years.. I witnessed governments of several political parties.. But when I see the children here I realize that they remain uneducated and there is no development.. Your state and your constituency are not going forward.. I go back but you have to stay here and tolerate all these.. But I have a question for you.. How long are you going to tolerate this?” Priyanka Gandhi asked.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also said “Should the politics be like this forcing you to tolerate?   Politics means service. The duty of a politician is to serve the people.. It is very easy for the politicians and political parties to forget this, because you don’t fulfill your responsibility properly.  If you don’t realize this and become more responsible, your rights will be suppressed like this… I hope you will remember my words when you go to vote on 15th…”
She has been campaigning in Amethi and Raebareli the constituencies of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi respectively.
