Sonia Gandhi: BJP misused the Central funds to accomplish its selfish interests

Congress and President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi while campaigning Uttarakhand said that the incumbent BJP Government in the state is not implementing the policies of the Congress led UPA Government at the centre properly. Sonia Gandhi also alleged that the BJP state government misused the funds sent by the Centre.

Sonia Gandhi said that instead of implementing the welfare policies of the Congress led Central Government for the benefit of the poor, the BJP government used the money to fulfill its "own vested interests". The Congress President added that the money was give to "their own party men".

Sonia Gandhi while striking an emotional chord with the people of Almora called the town her family's second home. "My family has had a long association with the beautiful town. Pandit (Jawaharlal) Nehru spent many days in Almora jail during the freedom struggle," Sonia Gandhi said.
