Muzaffarnagar: Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party vice president and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi visited riot-affected localities in Muzaffarnagar district on Monday. They visited some relief camps where riot-hit people are taking shelter. They were briefed about the situation in the district by the officers in-charge. They also visited the relief camps in Bassi Tala and Taawlil villages. They also visited journalist Rajesh Verma's home to meet the family members. Rajesh was killed in the riots.

Muzaffarnagar: Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party vice president and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi visited riot-affected localities in Muzaffarnagar district on Monday. They visited some relief camps where riot-hit people are taking shelter. They were briefed about the situation in the district by the officers in-charge. They also visited the relief camps in Bassi Tala and Taawlil villages. The leaders interacted with the riot-victims in the area.

Sonia Gandhi on Indian soldiers killing: India could not be cowed down by such blatant acts of deceit
New Delhi: Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has condemned the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The Congress president issued a statement asserted that India can't be cowed down by such blatant attack and extended her condolences. She also urged the government to take appropriate steps..
“Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has expressed deep grief and shock at the deceitful killing of 5 Indian solders by Pakistan at the LoC in Jammu & Kashmir. Extending heartfelt condolences to the family of the martyred soldiers she said that the entire congress party as indeed the entire country stands by them. She said that the Indian nation could not be cowed down by such blatant acts of deceit and urged the Government of India to take up appropriate measures”, said the statement issued by AICC.
