Referring to the bitter experience which the people of UP have undergone during BSP, SP and BJP regimes over the last twenty two years, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said that the people are now realizing that Congress (I) is the only reliable alternative in Uttar Pradesh. The people feel they have been cheated by BSP and SP. Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress (I) is determined to provide “only alternative” to the people and to restore governance in the state. Rahul Gandhi highlighted good record of Congress (I) since independence; it was Congress (I) which was once giving lead to the state. Uttar Pradesh was then on the path of development. But all that stopped when caste based politics of SP and BSP took over in the state said the Congress General Secretary. People are regretting having trusted SP and BSP over so long, he added. Rahul Gandhi said a government of the poor and common man by Congress will be responsive to the needs of the people and put the state on path of fast track development which people would start seeing within five years.
