The Indian National Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi has once again weaved threads of awareness about the pitiable state of affairs in Uttar Pradesh under Mayawati government, during his UP Tour.
The young Congress leader came sharp against the BJP’s election manifesto slogan in the last general elections in 2009. The BJP had put forward the slogan, “India Shining”. He said the slogan didn’t make any sense as the whole of India rather more of India is not actually shining. Development and progress is not there everywhere.
“Since 2004, there is UPA government in Delhi. When we fought in 2004, then the opposition’s slogan was ‘India shining’. Don’t know from where they got that slogan. Our slogan was common people’s government, the poor’s government. The opposition projected India shining but they didn’t eat at your house, didn’t drink at your house,” said the Congress MP from Amethi.
The Youth Congress icon has been speaking of pro-poor stand of the Grand Old party. In the UPA I government also the focus of the Congress was on the poor and their progress. Rahul has been saying that Congress is with the “aam aadmi”.
Rahul Gandhi has put forward the Congress’ stand and has criticized the BJP’s unrealistic slogan and stand it took in the 2009 general elections manifesto. He has mentioned unless the leaders understand the ground reality they cannot understand the real problems of India.
