Mayawati’s Daveria and Laxmiganj Sugar Mill Scams: Congress (I)

Congress (I) has been highlight the scams of Mayawati government as a consequence of which Uttar Pradesh has suffered losses in thousands of crores in each case. Mayawati has no vision, no agenda for development of the state.  Instead of creating assets for the state she has been selling the existing assets to private parties at much below nominal price.  As a result while Mayawati has been making personal gain, the state has suffered huge losses. For instance Daveria Sugar Mill was sold for Rs 14.11 crores whereas only one of the items that is land could have fetched Rs 27 crores.  Similarly Laxmiganj Sugar Mill was sold for Rs 8.20 whereas the stock already lying in the mill was worth more than Rs 4 cores. This explains the extent of extent of corruption and amount involved in Mayawati’s scams, said Congress (I).
