Congress (I) has lashed out at Mayawati government for diverting consumable item meant for people of BPL category and selling them in black market. It is the biggest scam in the state that took place in SP and BSP regime. It is estimated that the amount involved in this scam is over Rs 2 lakh crores. CBI investigation has brought out there was large scale corruption in sale of consumable items meant for people living below poverty line (BPL), said Congress (I). The items were sold in the open market to make money. This is a most shameful act on the part of the Mayawati government which claims to be working for dalits and poor, said Congress (I). Such a large scale corruption could not taken place with the active connivance of Mayawati government. Mayawati government is squarely responsible for the scam, said Congress (I).
