Mayawati govt. swindled money of JSY too, says Congress (I)
Lashing out against her for loot of welfare funds, Congress (I) has said that Mayawati government swindled money meant for welfare of poor women belonging to BPL category. Referring the Janani Suraksha Yojana the Congress alleged that Mayawati failed to protect even the interests of poor women for whom Center has sent a number of social welfare and health care schemes, said Congress (I).
“Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is one such scheme under National Rural Health Mission. The scheme is meant to encourage institutional delivery of pregnant women. For this Rs 1400 are given to each woman as incentive. But even in this scheme there is scam of Rs 28 crore”, Congress (I) said. “For instance in one case a women is shown to have delivered twice in five months. On scrutiny it was found second delivery was bogus. Most bizarre case came to notice in Allahabad district where 619 unmarried girls were shown to have delivered and amount was fraudulently claimed in their names” alleged the Congress.

BJP had no intention of passing the Lokpal Bill: Congress (I)
Congress (I) has condemned BJP for back tracing on proposed Lokpal Bill which the country needs badly for its fight against corruption. BJP had no intention to pass the bill. So they hit upon an ingenious devise to move 187 amendments, many of them contradictory and many of which could not have been reconciled in a few minutes. Congress is now using the Lokpal logjam in Parliament to tell voters in the poll-bound states that BJP had sabotaged the bill in order to keep its chief ministers out of the ambit of the Lokayukta. BJP's concerns over niceties of "federalism" to oppose the provision for Lokayukta, were actually lame excuses to shield its CMs against graft, said Congress (I). BJP has never been supporter of federal principles. Rather it has had a history of advocacy for strong centre only. BJP’s new sudden love for federalism speaks of its hypocrisy, said congress (I).

Congress attacks Mayawati’s about-turn on MNREGA Scheme
Chiding UP Chief Minister for depriving the dalits and poor the benefits of central government sponsored employment scheme Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MNREGA), Congress (I) has said Mayawati has no interest in dalits and poor except to garner their vote at the time of election by showing false sympathy and rosy dreams. Congress (I) has highlighted that it was Mayawati who had said central government sponsored MNREGA scheme for providing employment to dalits and poor people in rural areas would not be useful. But now all of a sudden Mayawati is saying that if she comes to power at the Centre changes would be brought in the MGNREGS to give employment to jobless people all the 365 days in a year. This exposes the falsehood of her earlier stand. She is simply playing upon the emotions of dalits and poor to serve her own interest to remain in power by hook or crook, said Congress (I).
